Joyeux Halloween

Sounds much nicer than Happy Halloween, right? Anything in French is good! Like I wrote 3 years ago, I am not a fan of Halloween. All the witches, goblins, ghosts, and skulls just creep me out. This is an absolutely fantastic read that makes some wonderful points! I really love this quote:

Witches, ghosts, and evil spirits are not terrifying; God’s wrath unleashed on the unforgiven sinner–now that is truly terrifying. – John MacArthur
Matt 3:2 “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
So anyway, we basically skipped Halloween this year. Instead of Trick or Treating {I don’t think I ever have…}, we {and by we I mean mom :)} made cookies {meringue tea party cookies!!!} and took them to people! There was a note on the bags {cards made by my sister!} that said “remember the words of Jesus, how He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive” Acts 20:35. So it was reverse Trick or Treating!
So anyway, since we didn’t really go anywhere yesterday, I have to show my outfit to somebody!

Wearing NYC’s orange, and Sally Hansen’s Celeb City :)

Hairclip from Amelia Bedelia Designs!

jeans: jcpenny | tank: old navy | shirt: old navy
So how was your Halloween? Did you do anything to ‘break the rules’? :)

Sophie - YOU GO GURL! I don’t like halloween… It celebrates death. Way to be a light in the darkness for Jesus! That’s soooo awesome! :D

Abbie - we don’t celebrate halloween either… we like to go spend the night with some friends. it’s fun!

~abbie =D

Claire - that hair clip is so cute! :D

my family *sometimes* goes trick or treating, but we’re reformed so we usually go to the Reformation Party at my church to celebrate when Martin Luther nailed the 95 thesis on the door of the church:) its a lot of fun and you still get to get dressed up! haha!

Rebecca - I’m not a fan of Halloween, but my family does “celebrate” it. To me, personally, it’s not about death and evil, though the majority of people view it that way. To me, it’s about make-believe and imagination. There’s a difference between dressing up and having fun and satanic practice.

Anonymous - Hi:)
I totally agree! I HATE halloween and we have never celabrated it:)
That’s so cool how you guys took cookies to people with verses!!!
God bless!!

Anonymous - I personally don’t mind celebrating Halloween – it’s just a fun time for kids to get dressed up. It doesn’t really have much to do with “death” anymore. love your nails!

Sarah-Anne - we didn’t celebrate it…how’s that for breaking the rules, hahaha! we were at a friends house when the trick-or-treaters started to come out so on the way home we saw all sorts of witches & such. that was the extent of our Halloween!
